MINI, ahead of the upcoming summer season, has announced the debut of the convertible version of the electric Cooper SE. For Europe, the carmaker will produce only 999 examples.
The electric MINI starts at just over 37,000 euros. So, the convertible version is likely to go for something more. It will arrive on the market in April.
This limited series model is closely derived from the one-off that MINI unveiled last July to celebrate its presence in the United States.
The engine? Still 135 kW/184 hp electric that enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds.

The Mini Cooper SE Cabrio full electric has unchanged measurements compared to its endothermic convertible sister. And, thus, length of 3.85 meters, wheelbase of 2.5 meters, height of 1.43 meters and a luggage compartment with a claimed capacity of 160 liters.
The 184-hp electric motor comes from the BMW Group of Dingolfing and Landshut: its small size allows a very balanced distribution of masses over the two axles, promoting agility and driving fun. The current drive enables Mini Cooper SE Cabrio to solve 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds. The car is built, along with the conventional convertible, in the Netherlands.
As for the interior, sport seats with MINI Yours Leather Lounge upholstery and heating function stand out. The standard equipment also includes a Nappa leather sports steering wheel. The interior design emphasizes the full electric character of the four-seater open-top, thanks to yellow details, as in the case of the start/stop lever. The rich equipment is complemented by the services eDrive typical of Mini Cooper SE.
With a range of 201 kilometers detected, "open air" excursions are possible beyond the limits of the metropolitan circle. The fabric top can be opened, closed or set as a sliding roof up to a speed of 30 km/h, and is characterized by the typical pattern of Union Jack.
