The BMW Concept Touring Coupé presented at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este is a unique prototype based on the Z4, inspired by the six-cylinder sports cars of BMW tradition.
The design features a combination of an elegant shooting brake and a sporty coupé, with a Sparkling Lario exterior paint finish combined with silver-bronze exterior elements and 20" and 21" alloy wheels.
The powertrain of the prototype is not specified, but it seems likely to be the 340 hp turbocharged 3.0 of the Z4 M40i.
The interior, made in collaboration with Poltrona Frau and Schedoni, features handcrafted two-tone leather in brown tones.
The Concept Touring Coupé presented by BMW at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este is a unique car destined to remain a treasured specimen. The inspiration for the vehicle's design comes from the past, from BMW models such as the 328 Touring Coupé Mille Miglia of 1940 and the 2002 Touring, through to coupés based on the Z3 and Z4 of previous generations.
The front end of the Concept Touring Coupé remains almost identical to that of the Z4, but the roof and tail are completely new and follow BMW's current styling course. The satin-finished profile surrounding the side window and the Hofmeister elbow motif emphasise the body lines. The wide wings and tailgate converge towards the rear light clusters, taken from the standard Z4.
The car features a Sparkling Lario exterior colour, combined with a silver-bronze finish on the exterior elements and 20- and 21-inch alloy wheels. BMW has not clarified what the powertrain of the Concept Touring Coupe will be, but it seems likely that it will be a 340 hp turbocharged 3.0, which currently powers the standard Z4 M40i.
The interior of the Concept Touring Coupé was created in collaboration with the Italian craftsmen of Poltrona Frau. They are two-tone and feature shades of brown, enhanced by the craftsmanship. A customised luggage compartment with Schedoni bags completes the interior.
Overall, the Concept Touring Coupé is the latest incarnation of BMW's six-cylinder sports car tradition, with a design inspired by iconic models from the German carmaker's past. A unique car, destined to remain a treasured treasure.
