Plymouth GTX: a 1971 model has been modified in full Fast and Furious style

This beautiful conversion restomod. Specifically, it is a 1971 Plymouth GTX , driven by Dominic Toretto in Fast and Furious. And the only one has actually been modified to look like the car from Toretto so far.

The GTX is a vehicle from Plymouth launched in 1966. It remained on the market until 1971, and about 44,000 were sold in that period. In that short time there have been three different generations. The restomod conversion involves a model from the last year of production in the range and will be auctioned at Glendale, Arizona. The auction will be held in March through the auction house Mecum.

And clearly this Playmouth GTX will be one of the stars of the event. It will even be auctioned off without a reserve price. This is a recent conversion that was fully restored and completed only in 2022.

Modified engine
The engine under the hood is the original. However, this has been greatly improved by a series of modifications. In particular, it is a 440-hp V8, which was the larger of the two engines available in the 1970s.

Inside
You can see a lot of black/brown leather, there is a new dashboard with the display Dakota Digital and there is also no shortage of a small infotainment in the center console. Many details such as the roof lining in Alcantara, the aluminum selector lever of the 727 automatic transmission, and the new handbrake lever impressively complement this unique model.

Some details of the mechanics
The car is kept under control and firmly on the ground by a 4-arm suspension system Magnum Force and braking system Wilwood. The front wheels turn under the power of the system Flaming River.

Waiting for Fast and Furious X
As mentioned, this Playmouth GTX will be auctioned off in March but we do not know the starting price. Practically about two months before the tenth Fast and Furious arrives in theaters worldwide (May 19 in the United States). So it is unlikely that the launch of the film will affect the sale price.
