We are still a month away from the start of the 2023 World Championship at Formula 1. After Haas, Red Bull and Williams (presented yesterday) today it was the turn of theAlfa Romeo.
TheAlfa Romeo C43, as the single-seater that will make its debut in Bahrain on the weekend of March 3-5, 2023, has been called very "bad" by Valtteri Bottas,, which together with Zhou Guanyu will form next season's line-up for the Italian manufacturer.
The presentation was staged online, and it shows a car that is very aggressive in its lines, pays homage to the tricolor in the rear wing and has many noteworthy details.
The car was presented to the press at a joint conference in Zurich and at the company's headquarters in Hinwil, Switzerland, by current teammates Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, who together took sixth place in last year's constructors' standings.
The new main sponsor Stake is located right in the middle of the livery, which will be the last to show the brand Alfa Romeo, as the company prepares to finalize its sponsorship deal in view of the merger of Audi with the operation run by Sauber.
Designed by technical director Jan Monchaux and his team, the C43 is an "evolution" of its predecessor, the C42, however changes to the regulations for 2023 have forced the team to add "several upgrades and completely new parts," while the car's development path promises "a steep improvement curve."
The brand's new single-seater Alfa Romeo will taste the asphalt for the first time in a shakedown session in Barcelona in the coming days, before flying to Bahrain for pre-season testing Feb. 23-25, which will be followed by the 2023 debut at the Sakhir circuit a week later.
A management revolution.
TheAlfa Romeo went through a real winter earthquake at the management level, as the former team leader Frederic Vasseur left at Ferrari and Andreas Seidl arrived from McLaren to take over the general role of CEO. Alessandro Alunni Bravi is the new team principal for this season.
In addition to a set of colors, black and red, very strong forAlfa Romeo, the stable also wanted to pay homage to Italy with a beautiful tricolor on the rear wing. A detail that cannot go unnoticed.
