ELECTRIC CARS

Afeela, the first full electric car from Sony and Honda

Sony and Honda Cars have chosen the CES of Las Vegas to unveil the first prototype, Afeela, the new electric car brand of the joint venture between the two Japanese giants.

The first model will arrive on the American market in 2026, at a price that will be competitive compared to the price lists of premium car manufacturers, such as Mercedes, BMW, Volvo and Audi.

Recall that years ago Sony had presented CES an elegant sedan concept called Vision-S that had to show how it would have been if Sony had produced a car himself.

Remember the concept car Vision-S
Recall that years ago Sony had presented to the CES an elegant sedan concept called Vision-S, which was to show how it would have been if Sony had produced a car himself. The prototype Afeela therefore reminiscent of the Vision-S, and is still a sedan, but here it is proposed with a bright line on the front, a closed grille and a glossy black roof.

There are no concrete specifications on the car yet
There are not many other news about engines, batteries and autonomy but it becomes interesting to understand the philosophy of a company that has always been as technological as Sony, which decides to enter the automotive world. The Afeela cars will be available to order in the first half of 2025 but deliveries will not take place before 2026.
